Hyndburn Borough Council

The Council currently maintains approximately 450 hectares of Public Open Spaces; this includes:

• 11 parks
• 7 playing fields
• 11 informal recreation grounds
• 12 town gardens
• 22 allotment sites
• ­30 play areas
  

In addition the Council is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of nine war memorials and their surroundings.

The borough operates a total of 30 play areas, 73% of which meet the standard for play areas as defined by the Fields in Trust six-acre standard.
