Meet the Mayor and Mayoress of Hyndburn
Councillor John Broadley was elected Mayor of Hyndburn for the Municipal Year 2012-13 at the Council's AGM on Thursday 24 May 2012 and installed as Mayor at the Mayor-Making Ceremony held at Accrington Town Hall on Saturday June 2 2012. Councillor Broadley has served Church Ward since 2002.
The Mayoress is the Mayor's wife Jean Broadley. They have been married for 48 years and have 2 sons, I daughter, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
They are active members of the community being lifelong members of St. James Church, Church Kirk and members of both the St James Church Choir and founder members of the New Era Choral Choir as well as members of Church Prospects Panel. The Mayor is also a governor at St. Nicholas Primary School in Church and a Trustee of the recently established Hyndburn based Charity: YNOT (Young Persons Neighbourhood Operational Team).
