Recycling

Why here in Hyndburn?

View pages in this section

All local authorities have been set recycling targets by central government, and therefore Hyndburn has an obligation to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. We have to increase the amount of waste recycled to 34% in 2007/08 and over 45% by 2010.

It is important to commit to these targets now so that we can meet future commitments set by Europe and our Government. The important thing is that the waste needs to be sorted before it can be recycled... and that's where you can help.
