'Transcending Perceptions' 20 April to 2 June 2013

Artist Chris Fittock will challenge visitors perceptions of how they judge someone by the clothes they wear, whilst sound producer, Jules, will get visitors to question not only what they see but also what they hear! In addition, we shall also have artwork on show from the Blackburn Artist Group.

The exhibition is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 12 noon to 4.45pm and Saturday, Sunday 12 noon to 4.15pm, entrance and car parking are free.

From the 20 April - Free family groups and children activities

You can have fun finding the 'Peg People' and have a go at creating your own self-portrait as well as the usual colouring and painting available in the Education room.

On Saturday 4 May 2pm to 3.30pm Create your very own 'Peg Person' with Susan Watson

This is a free drop-in workshop and there is no need to book. Your finished work will go on display in the exhibition cabinet outside the education room after which you will be able to collect and take home!

Sunday the 5 May at 1.30pm Chris Fittock - FREE Walk and Talk

Chris will be giving a 'Walk and Talk' of his exhibition, combined with a lecture about the story behind the paintings, and why after 40 years of hiding, he chose to 'come out of the closet'.

Saturday 18th May 10am to 8.30pm - Joseph Briggs, the Musical!

Calling all budding young actors, actresses and singers! Would you like the FREE opportunity to work with professional theatre group 'Proper Job Theatre' to create 'Joseph Briggs - the Musical' at the Haworth Art Gallery on Saturday 18th May - a musical that will follow the story of Josephs epic journey of traveling from Accrington to America, joining a Wild West Circus and eventually meeting Louis Comfort Tiffany? You can join these FREE workshops to create the musical and then perform it that evening for friends and family! The workshops start at 10am running to 5pm, then the performance will commence at 7pm. Lunch and evening refreshments will be provided! All you need to do to join this fabulous day is to ring the gallery on 01254 233782 and book your place! Everyone is welcome - including young artists to create the backdrops and costumes!
