Make Sure You Can Vote For Your Police And Crime Commissioner
Published Wednesday 25th July 2012 in Council and democracy news
Voters in Hyndburn may be wondering why they are receiving their electoral registration forms now instead of in August as usual.
The forms are going out early to ensure that the electoral register is as up-to-date as possible ahead of the first Police and Crime Commissioner elections being held on 15 November.
Canvassers working for Hyndurn Borough Council have been delivering the forms since the beginning of July and residents are being encouraged to complete their form and return it promptly to ensure they can have their say in November.
Registering to vote is quick and simple. If changes need to be made to the form just write the details on, sign it and return it to the Council in the envelope it was delivered in. If there are no changes then people are encouraged to use the freephone, internet or text options available although they can still sign the form and post it back if they'd rather.
These are new elections, if you want your say you must ensure you're registered to vote.
