Authority Monitoring Report (AMR)

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires local authorities to develop monitoring systems to assess the effectiveness of Local Development Documents.

The role of the Authority Monitoring Report (AMR) (previously referred to as Annual Monitoring Reports) is to assess the implementation of the Local Development Scheme (LDS) and the extent to which policies of Development Plan Documents are being achieved. The AMR will also assess whether the Council has met the targets and milestones set in the current LDS, or if it has failed to meet such targets, the reasons for failure and how these will be addressed.
