Meet the Artist: Becky Atherton

Head to Haworth Art Gallery this Saturday to hear all about Becky Atherton’s latest exhibition: “The Art of Giving Back: The Herstory of Philanthropist Anne Haworth” by Becky Atherton.
A Lancashire born artist Becky Atherton has only just started to develop her own creative practice after working as a community artist for 25 years. After completing her MA in Fine Art at UClan Preston in 2021, Becky received a developing your creative practice grant from Arts Council England in 2023. During this period Becky explored the herstory of philanthropist Anne Haworth.
Becky continues to explore herstory, female mythology, fairy tale, and folklore throughout her practice. She exhibits her work regionally, nationally, and internationally.
“The Art of Giving Back: The Herstory of Philanthropist Anne Haworth” is on display until 23rd March and available to view during usual Gallery opening hours (Wednesday to Sunday 12 noon – 4:30 pm with last entry and shop closing at 4pm.)
