Cannonball Events are very proud to be organising this fantastic race named in honour of Accrington’s (and probably Lancashire’s) most famous athlete Ron Hill. Ron, who was born in Accrington, won the Commonwealth Games and European Championship marathons. He has run every day for over 50 years, even after breaking his sternum in a car crash! He’s even got a street named in his honour that you will pass near on the course.

The OMC Motor Group Ron Hill Accrington 10k is a race for people of all speeds, there will be great prizes for the speed merchants at the front but each of the runners will be warmly welcomed whatever speed they run at. It doesn’t matter if you are running for a PB, a prize, to raise money for charity or just for fun, we’d love you to join in! The 10k is largely traffic free with road closures at the start and at the finish. For those that can’t manage 10k and those too young to do so, we have introduced a 1-mile Fun Run which will be run entirely on closed roads.
