Write a story or poem up to 300 words, on the theme of winter or Christmas!

The competition closing date is Wednesday 1 November, and entries will be judged by Julie Hesmondhalgh with 12 winners to be selected.

Each of the winners will receive a prize of £50 cash, and the winning entries will be displayed in 12 shop windows around Accrington, alongside 12 further shops which will display stories/poems written by professional writers.

The 12 winners will also be invited on stage at the Accrington Christmas Light Switch On, which takes place on Thursday 23 November!

Entries can also be handed into the Market Office upstairs in Accrington Market Hall.
