Safety Critical Role
We are seeking someone to assist with the delivery of our waste enforcement service within the principles of best value and Councils policies. This person will investigate complaints with regards to environmental issues, fly tipped rubbish, side waste, littering, abandoned or nuisance vehicles and incorrect use of waste containers by residents and businesses. The candidate must have good communication skills as you will be required to interact with residents members and other people within the Council, you will need to have the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
The successful candidate needs to be a team player, flexible in their approach to duties have a good customer focus and a positive can do attitude and ensure all actions are carried out in line with the Council’s Health and Safety Policies and Safe Working Procedures.
Applicants for the post must have a valid category C1 driving Licence and will also need to possess a valid driver CPC card and tachograph card as you may need to cover on a frontline services as and when required for our business continuity. We are looking for someone who has a WAMITAB qualification in enforcement or equivalent or is willing to work towards gaining this qualification. You will need effective verbal and written skills and process a good level of IT systems and mobile technology skills including word and excel.
This is a Safety critical post and as such the post holder will be subject to random drugs and alcohol testing.
The hours of work are 37 hours per week, 7:00am to 14:59pm. However, in order to provide continuity of service to residents, you may be required to work on certain Weekends or Bank Holidays.
