This is an exciting time to be joining Hyndurn Borough Councils Environmental Health Team. The team deals with a broad range of Environmental Health duties and is in the process of transition as a number of teams are coming together to form a new Environmental Health service area.

This role covers the functions of environmental pollution, air quality, contaminated land, private water supplies, noise nuisance, planning application consultations, permitted processes, land detrimental to the amenity of the borough, public health functions, caravan and scrap metal licensing.

We are looking for professional, competent and enthusiastic individuals who are able to communicate well at all levels, with the ability to cope with a demanding workload.

Applications are invited from candidates with a degree in Environmental Health or equivalent, with at least five years operational experience and at least two years supervisory/management experience. A management qualification (or working towards) is also required for these posts.

The role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, a flexible approach to work and a solution focused outlook. You will be working in a friendly and supportive environmental and will be expected to work well with all members of the team and wider council colleagues. A good level of effective IT skills and the ability to understand and develop the use of ICT to achieve work objectives is also required.
