This is an exciting time to be joining Hyndburn Borough Councils Environmental Health Team. The team deals with a broad range of Environmental Health duties and is in the process of transition as a number of teams have recently joined to form a new Environmental Health service area.

We have two exciting opportunities to join our Environmental Protection Team. If you thrive in taking the initiative, getting things done and would like to make a real difference, we would like to hear from you.

This is a varied and interesting role. The post holder will be involved with the investigation and enforcement of environmental crime such as fly tipping on private land. Investigation and enforcement with regards to the condition of back yards, land and buildings which are detrimental to the amenity of the area. Investigations relating to drainage complaints. Inspections and licensing of premises such as scrap metal, animal boarding. Dealing with Public Health Act funerals in terms of both practical and financial administration.

The ideal candidates will be excellent team players, be competent to deal with complex case work and have very good verbal and communication skills.  You will need to be organised and motivated and be able to work on your own initiative. Previous experience of working in an enforcement role is required.

If you have the right experience and feel your skills and experience match the requirements, we would be eager to hear from you. There are two positions currently available, one permanent and one two year fixed term.
