Senior Environmental Health Officer (Housing Standards)

Hyndburn Borough Council

Senior Environmental Health Officer (Housing Standards)
Full time 37 Hours
£35,336 – £37,568

This is an exciting time to be joining Hyndburn Borough Councils Environmental Health Team. The team deals with a broad range of Environmental Health duties and is in the process of transition as a number of teams are coming together to form a new Environmental Health service area. If you thrive in taking the initiative, getting things done and would like to make a real difference, we would like to hear from you.

We have two exciting opportunities to join our Housing Standards Team to support the Council’s aim to improve housing standards and the Borough’s housing stock including the private rented sector, homes in multiple occupancy and empty homes.

The post holder will contribute to improving the quality of private sector rented housing stock within the Borough, investigating reports of sub-standard housing conditions and poor management practice.

You will be involved with the investigation and enforcement of private sector housing complaints under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System, reports of illegal eviction, and Houses in Multiple Occupancy (HMOs) including licensing.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player, be competent to deal with complex case work and have very good verbal and communication skills.  You will need to be organised and motivated and be able to work on your own initiative.

If you have the right experience for one of these roles and feel your skills and experience match the requirements, we would be eager to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and experienced, including the Housing Health and Safety Rating System.
