The Lancashire COVID-19 Community Support Fund for community and voluntary organisations on the frontline was launched by the Community Foundation for Lancashire.
The Hyndburn Hub, the umbrella organisation for a network of over 30 community groups, has secured £5,000 of from the fund with thanks to an application from Hyndburn Leisure Trust.
Lyndsey Sims, CEO at Hyndburn Leisure and Hyndburn Hub Lead said:
“It is fantastic news that the Hyndburn Hub has been granted this vital support. The money will be put towards essential supplies and services to help our most vulnerable residents during this difficult time. Our foodbanks have seen a huge increase in demand alongside a need for other services such as mental health support.
Thank you to the Lancashire COVID-19 Community Support Fund and National Emergencies Trust. With this money we will be able to continue to help those in desperate need within Hyndburn.”
The support fund was launched as a result of the impact of the Coronavirus outbreak and will help vulnerable people within Lancashire Communities.
