Open Businesses 06 March 2021 to 02 April 2021
Hyndburn was placed in National Lockdown (Stay At Home alert level) which imposes restrictions on local businesses from Tuesday 05 January 2021.
The Council has launched the fifth phase of the Additional Restriction Grant scheme.
The Additional Restriction Grant will provide financial assistance and support to businesses which are allowed to remain open and trading during the period of national restrictions, but have been severely impacted during the period of national restrictions, together with businesses that are required to close that do not have their own business rates assessment.
The scheme is open to businesses that are both liable to pay business rates and appear in the Valuation Rating list as well as businesses that do not meet this criteria.
The level of grant award is at the discretion of the Council, but as a guide the amount payable will be based on the rateable value of the property for business rates and for those businesses not in the rating list, grants will be based on the number of employees
Councillor Miles Parkinson OBE, Leader of the Council said,
“In the last twelve months, we have issued more than £37m in additional funding and Hyndburn has been recognised nationally for leading the country in its efforts to support vital local businesses.
It is important that we continue to support our businesses throughout these difficult times ensuring funds are allocated to those businesses that have been forced to stop trading, or who have suffered financially under the Government’s imposed restrictions.
Applications for the Additional Restriction Grant scheme open from today, Thursday 18 March 2021 and closes on Thursday 01 April 2021. All the information needed to apply is on our website with the online form available 24 hours a day.
I would urge our community of businesses to apply whilst we are still facing local restrictions”.
