This week Hyndburn Leisure will celebrate the birthday of one of its latest investments – Adventure City Soft Play and Party Centre.
In June 2017, thanks to investment from Hyndburn Borough Council and Hyndburn Leisure, Adventure City opened its doors to the public. The facility was built in the sports hall at Hyndburn Leisure Centre and includes a play and party experience for 0-11 year olds situated alongside a new café.
Lyndsey Sims, Chief Executive of Hyndburn Leisure said, ‘Opening Adventure City was an exciting challenge for Hyndburn Leisure as it was a move away from our regular mainstream fitness and leisure offer. The Management Team and the Board recognised a gap in the market for new large scale play facility in the Accrington area and we think Adventure City really compliments some of the other activities we provide at Hyndburn Leisure Centre such as swimming lessons and gymnastics courses.’
Joanne Mortimer, Head of Leisure Facilities said, ‘The hard work that went in to the facility has paid off, with over 70,000 visits since opening, with people travelling far and wide to visit Accrington’s biggest and best play facility.’
On 8 June, Adventure City is celebrating its first birthday. As well as all the usual play facilities on offer, there’ll be games, prizes, raffles, crafts and much more. We are also reducing the entry price to £2.50 for the day and will have a special offer on birthday parties booked on the day. Adventure City is located inside Hyndburn Leisure Centre, Henry Street, Church and is open daily from 9 am.
