Almost £11,000 raised by Cllr Kath Pratt in year as Mayor of Hyndburn

Elected as Mayor of Hyndburn for the Municipal Year 2021/2022 Councillor Kathleen Pratt has served on the Baxenden ward for 15 years as a councillor and is well known throughout the community.

During her year in office Cllr Pratt was supported by husband and Consort, Barrie Pratt and fellow Councillor, Judith Addison, as Mayoress.

Raising almost £11,000 for worthy causes throughout the year the outgoing Mayor handed over the chains to new Mayor, Councillor Abdul Khan, in a ceremony at Accrington Town Hall on Saturday 21 May 2022.

Councillor Kath Pratt said:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of my year as Mayor of Hyndburn. It has been wonderful to meet hundreds of people in our local community, learn about the great work happening in the borough and raise money for charity along the way. I wish Councillor Khan all the best and congratulate him on his appointment as Mayor, he is a fantastic ambassador for Hyndburn and his dedication is clear for everyone to see.”

The chosen charities for the year 2021/2022 include: RNLI, Pioneer Swimming Club, Rosemere Cancer Foundation and Community Solutions North West.

Cllr Pratt continued:

“All of these charities are close to me personally and it has been a great honour to support them, alongside other local causes. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has been part of my year in office and thank you to the generosity of all who have supported the various charity events and activities throughout the year.”
