Diabetes is a growing health problem for people from South Asian backgrounds. The likelihood of developing Type 2 diabetes is reported to be as much as 6 times higher in South Asians when compared to the wider population.
This makes it important for us to know the facts about Diabetes and to remove the myths that surround its treatment.
As part of the Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Week, IMO are seeking enthusiastic individuals to become Diabetes Community Champions and help raise awareness of this issue in Accrington and surrounding areas.
As a champion you will help educate members of your community and raise awareness of Diabetes and the IMO Diabetes project.

IMO are grateful to East Lancashire CCG for supporting this work.
