Election information – Thursday 6th May 2021

Elections will take place on 6th May 2021 for Hyndburn Borough Council, Lancashire County Council and the Lancashire Police & Crime Commissioner

Things will run a little differently this year. There will be enhanced cleaning and measures in place to keep voters and those working at the polling stations safe.

Polling stations are open 7am – 10pm on the day of the election, Thursday 6th May 2021. For further information about voting, your local candidates or to find your to find your local polling station visit this link and type in your postcode.

Measures in place to keep you safe

  • You may have to wait outside as the number of people admitted into each polling station will be limited.
  • Wear a mask on entry to the polling station, unless exempt. Please remember to bring one with you.
  • You may want to bring your own pen or pencil to mark your ballot paper to help with infection control.
  • Social distancing measures will be in place at all times.

Have COVID-19 symptoms or have been asked to self-isolate?

Do not visit the polling station. Apply for an emergency proxy vote instead by emailing: enquiries@hyndburnbc.gov.uk or calling 01254 388 111 (your proxy can also apply if they develop symptoms).

Polling station location update:

The polling station ordinarily located inside Mount Carmel High School, Accrington, will instead be a cabin close by, on Wordsworth Road. This will be clearly signposted from the usual entrance.
