Re Covid 19 pandemic – elections on 6th May 2021 for Hyndburn Borough Council, Lancashire County Council and the Lancashire Police & Crime Commissioner
Although it is possible that the May elections may yet be postponed, the latest Government advice is that these will all go ahead on Thursday 6th May this year as normal.
The Council is therefore working to ensure that you can cast your vote in safety. This means that things will run a little differently this year, including enhanced cleaning throughout the day and other measures to reduce risk of infection.
What will be different about the upcoming elections?
- You may have to wait outside during busy times as the number of people admitted into each polling station will be limited.
- You are encouraged to wear a mask on entry to the polling station, unless exempt. Please remember to bring one with you.
- You may want to bring your own pen or pencil to mark your ballot paper to help with infection control.
Can I vote via post?
Yes, absolutely. If you would like a postal vote application form please email us at elections@hyndburnbc.gov.uk or call 01254 388 111 and we will send one out to you as soon as possible.
