The Council is producing a new planning document called the Development Management Development Plan Document (DM DPD).
This forms an important part of the new Local Plan for Hyndburn. The DM DPD sets out the detailed planning policies to be used by Planning Officers and Members of Planning Committee in determining planning applications for the Borough. Once complete, the
DM DPD will sit alongside the Core Strategy and Accrington Area Action Plan, parts of the Local Plan already adopted by the Council.
The Council submitted the DM DPD to the Secretary of State for independent Examination in January 2017. A Planning Inspector has examined the document, formal hearings have taken place, and a number of modifications are now proposed. This is a final opportunity to comment on these proposed modifications to the document prior to the Inspector issuing her final report to the Council.
The proposed modifications to the DM DPD are available for comment for a period of 6 weeks from Friday 14 July 2017. View the relevant documentation online. Hard copies will also be available to view at all Council libraries and in the reception of the Council Offices at Scaitcliffe House, Ormerod Street, Accrington, BB5 0PF, during normal working hours.
Please send any comments (quoting the relevant modification reference to which your comments relate) by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or post to Plans and Environment, Scaitcliffe House, Ormerod Street, Accrington, BB5 0PF. All comments should be received no later than 5pm on Friday 25 August 2017.
Comments will be made available for public inspection, and will therefore not be treated as confidential. The Council will forward any responses received directly to the Inspector for consideration as part of the Examination process. On receipt of the final Inspector’s report the Council intends to implement any recommended modifications and adopt the DM DPD for use in all future planning decisions.
