Opening their doors on Monday 27th July, the team at Hyndburn Leisure Centre have been working hard to ensure a safe and seamless reopening of facilities.
Hyndburn’s Leader and MP were invited for a preview of the new safety measures and are impressed at the hard work and dedication from everyone at Hyndburn Leisure Trust in implementing this so quickly and effectively.
Cllr Miles Parkinson OBE, Leader of Hyndburn Borough Council said:
“The staff have done a marvellous job making sure everything is ready for the members. It is clear lots of thought and research has gone into every aspect of their safety measures. Exercise is very important and its great we can now enjoy these excellent facilities, whilst keeping safe.”
Sara Britcliffe, MP for Hyndburn added:
“I am really impressed to see all the safety measures in place within Hyndburn Leisure Centre, it’s fantastic. Keeping healthy is so important for both physical and mental health, I am sure all the members in Hyndburn and beyond are excited to return and support the reopening, well done to all involved.”

“I am thrilled to be able to welcome our customers back and excited for everyone to see what we have been up to during lockdown. Many of our team have been working throughout the past few months to keep Hyndburn healthy and safe, including assisting with the Hyndburn Hub and delivering virtual exercise programmes to people. As we reopen our doors to the Hyndburn Leisure Centre we are looking forward to seeing lots of familiar faces and hopefully also some new ones!”
