As the summer months draw to a close and we enter Autumn it is great to see our community continuing to look after each other. Covid-19 is still prevalent in the North West and whilst we enjoy events, leisure and hospitality we need to remain cautious. Throughout Hyndburn mask wearing is welcome and we encourage people to social distance whenever possible to prevent further transmission of the virus.
Over 100,000 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in Hyndburn, amounting to over 82% of people which is fantastic. The team involved in the Vaccination roll out have been working incredibly hard during unprecedented times, thank you. We must remember to have both doses and also a booster dose of the vaccination if it is offered to us. Not only does it help protect you, it helps to protect people around you including our healthcare services and small businesses.
After a very difficult 18 months it is more important than ever to look after our physical and mental health. Getting outdoors, no matter the weather, is a great way to look after our wellbeing. We have many parks and outdoor spaces to explore in Hyndburn and I am pleased to share the newly installed pump track at Milnshaw Park is now open. The new pump track is perfect for a variety of wheeled sports. It ranges from 0.4 – 1.3m in height, ideal for both beginners and those more experienced.
If you, or anyone you know, is struggling the Hyndburn Hub is still very much available. People can get in touch for themselves, or on behalf of someone else, to request support. This could be for anything from mental health and wellbeing, or access to food solutions services. Please email enquiries@hyndburnbc.gov.uk or call 01254 388 111.
