On Friday 8 July Clayton community centre opened its doors after refurbishment and investment, following its move to become a leisure trust run facility last year.
Securing more than £250,000 in investment so far, the centre is now home to Clayton Amateur Boxing Club and has plenty of space for people to hire rooms for community events, activities and conferences.
Leader, Cllr Miles Parkinson OBE, attended the open event and is looking forward seeing to the bright future the community centre will have:
“It was brilliant to see the community centre full of families enjoying the excellent facilities and chatting to local providers about the clubs and services they can offer. Well done to Hyndburn Leisure for securing the funding needed to make sure this well-loved community centre has a bright future and gives local people the opportunities they deserve. The community centre is one more step in the wider overall transformation of leisure facilities in Hyndburn which will help our borough become a happier and healthier place for all.”
