Proposed Selective Licensing Designation in parts of Accrington and Church– Progress Update

The consultation period on the Proposed Selective Licensing Designation for parts of Accrington and Church ended on 17 April 2017.

An Urgent Cabinet decision was made, on 7th July 2017, to approve the proposed Selective Licensing designation, fee structure and licence conditions.

The reason for the Urgent Cabinet Decision was to try to ensure that there is no gap between the existing licensing scheme which ends on the 30th of November 2017 and the proposed new licensing scheme.

Further to this, an application for confirmation of the Selective licensing designation was submitted to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) on the 12th July 2017.
