Restart Grants:
On 3 March 2021, Government announced the introduction of grant support for non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses in England.
This support will take the form of a one-off grant funding scheme in Financial Year 2021-2022.
The scheme is called the Restart Grant.
The Restart Grants provide up to £6,000 per premises for non-essential retail businesses and up to £18,000 per premises for hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses, giving them the cash certainty they need to plan ahead and safely relaunch trading over the coming months.
To be eligible for the Restart Grant, you must be liable for business rates and your business premises must appear on the Business Rates Valuation List, the business trading or engaged in business activity on 01 April 2021, and you must be registered as being liable for Business Rates with the Council on 01 April 2021.
The amount to be paid will be determined by the rateable value of the property for business rates purposes.
There are 3 rates of Restart Grant payments as detailed below for non-essential retail premises:-

| Over £15,000 and less than £51,000 | £4000 |
| Exactly £51,000 or over | £6000 |
There are 3 rates of Restart Grant payments as detailed below for hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses:-

The scheme will operate in accordance with Government guidelines and funding availability.
A Council spokesperson said,
“In the last twelve months, we have issued more than £37m in additional funding and Hyndburn has been recognised nationally for leading the country in its efforts to support vital local businesses.
It is important that we continue to support our businesses throughout these difficult times ensuring funds are allocated to those businesses that have been mandated to stop trading under the Government’s imposed restrictions giving them cash certainty they need to plan ahead and to help them reopen safely over the coming months.
Applications for Restart Grant scheme opens from today, 01 April 2021 and closes on Wednesday 30th June 2021. All the information needed to apply is on our website with the online form available 24 hours a day.
