The Covid-19 Vaccination bus came to Accrington last week and the team are celebrating the success. Amongst the patients on the day, five people attended to receive their very first dose of the vaccination!

Cllr Kath Pratt, Cabinet member for Health and Wellbeing at Hyndburn said:

“Well done to everyone involved in bringing this vaccination bus to Hyndburn. The news that several people came along for their very first jab is fantastic and shows just how necessary it is we keep providing this service for people. I would like to say thank you to all the teams who have made this offer possible including NHS, Lancashire County Council and Hyndburn Council colleagues.

“Being able to bring this service directly to people in such a convenient way is great, having it on Accrington Town Square and also a drop-in service means a lot of people can fit the appointment into their day easily whilst shopping or travelling through Accrington.”

Thanks to collaborative working from Lancashire County Council, NHS and Hyndburn Council the bus has booked to come back again to Accrington.

The Covid-19 vaccination bus, located on Accrington Town Square, will be open 10:00am to 4:00pm on Wednesday 20 and Wednesday 27 July 2022. No appointment is needed, people aged 12+ are invited to come along for their first, second or booster jab. If anyone is not sure about their eligibility they can check online or come along and ask the team on the day.
