Are you ready for the holidays? Make sure you are disposing of your waste properly and make use of the Christmas Tree Disposal scheme this year.

Are you disposing of waste in the right bin?
Brown Bin YES TO:
Cardboard, waxed cartons, wrapping paper, Christmas cards
Blue Bin YES TO:
Glass bottles, jars and mixed plastics
Please do not put foiled wrapping paper or cards with glitter/plastic/ribbons into your brown bin
Need to dispose of your real Christmas Tree?
You don’t need to book a collection to dispose of your real Christmas tree! We will transform it into compost or wood chippings. Please place it alongside your recycling on your FIRST collection day from Thursday 6 January. No lights, trimmings or bases please.
The Household Waste and Recycling centre at Whinney Hill is closed on 25, 26 December and 1 January. Otherwise the centre is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Please recycle as much of your waste as possible, however, to help you manage your household waste, we will remove two extra bags of non-recyclable waste on your first collection day of the New Year.
Please note, our Council offices close at 5:00pm Thursday 23 December 2021 and will reopen on Tuesday 4 January 2022. If you need information e-mail email@example.com
