Planning policies shape how the Borough will develop in the future and are produced as part of a Local Plan for the Borough. They provide the policy framework for the long-term development of the Borough and are the basis upon which decisions on planning applications are made.

A ‘Call for Sites’ process was undertaken as plan preparation process and closed on Monday 27 January 2020 (Site Submissions).  The Council can no longer accept submissions for consideration in the Pre-submission/Publication Plan.

Current Consultations

 The council is currently consulting on an Article 4 Direction for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs), new supplementary guidance around HMOs and Children’s Residential and Supported Accommodation as well as on a new Validation checklist for planning applications. The consultations are open until Monday 5 May 2025.
