The Council's Corporate Governance Arrangements

Corporate governance is about ensuring that the Council is doing the right things, in the right way, for the right people, in a timely, inclusive open, honest and accountable manner.

First class corporate governance arrangements are essential to help us to deliver our vision for Hyndburn, ensuring the best services and the best use of resources.

We believe we can maintain effective corporate governance arrangements if we:

• put in place sound control systems and processes;
• regularly check to make sure those systems and processes are working in practice;
• review our systems and processes at least annually.

Our code of corporate governance brings together in one document all the governance and accountability arrangements the Council currently has in place and highlights areas where more work is required.
