Services and parades will be held in every township around Hyndburn this Remembrance Day, bringing together the community during this period of reflection. Attendees are invited to come together as one and remember the sacrifices of all those who have fought and given their lives for peace in conflicts both past and present.
Cllr Stewart Eaves, Hyndburn Council Armed Forces Champion, said:
“Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day offer us a solemn opportunity to honour the courage and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, past and present. We are proud to support the Royal British Legion and are looking forward to joining them in parades and services across Hyndburn. It is a time for communities to come together in mutual respect, and I encourage everyone to attend and show their support.”
The weekend will begin with a full day of services and parades around the various townships of Hyndburn to mark Remembrance Sunday on Sunday 9th November, organised in conjunction with the Royal British Legion.
This will be followed by a short service held at The Accrington Pals Memorial Garden on Church Street, Accrington, commencing at 10:45am on Tuesday 11th November to mark Armistice Day.
