Hyndburn Mayor Launches Christmas Card Art Competition for 2025

Hyndburn Mayor Launches Christmas Card Art Competition for 2025
The Mayor and Mayoresses of Hyndburn are reaching out to residents in search of the perfect scene for their Christmas Cards this year, and they are turning to the budding artists across the local community for help.
Whether it be a snowy landscape scene, a snowman being built, or just something that reminds the artist of Christmas in Hyndburn, this competition invites everyone, of all ages and backgrounds, to submit their best Hyndburn winter-themed artwork inspired by the local area.
The Mayor and Mayoresses will choose their favourite artwork out of the submissions and the winning entry will be credited on the final Christmas Cards, as well as a thank-you prize to be awarded.
The Mayor of Hyndburn, Cllr Josh Allen, said:
“Our borough has an abundance of natural beauty all year round but there is something extra special at Christmas that makes it hard for anyone to not be inspired by, whether that be seeing the community come together to share their festive cheer or watching the local area be transformed by a touch of snow. The Mayoresses and I are certainly looking forward to seeing all of the entries!”
The winning entry will be enjoyed far and wide, with the Mayoral Christmas cards being sent to leaders and community representatives, both in Hyndburn and further afield. The winning and runner-up artwork will also be on display at Haworth Art Gallery throughout the festive period, available for visitor viewing during their usual opening hours (Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm – 4:30pm, with last entry at 4pm).
The artwork can be created in a wide range of mediums, whether that be digital art or more traditional drawing and painting.
To submit your entry, send your Hyndburn winter themed artwork to Marketing, Hyndburn Borough Council, Scaitcliffe House, Accrington, BB50PF. You can also take a photo of your artwork or send any digital entries by email to marketing@hyndburnbc.gov.uk . If you choose to send a photo of your artwork, remember to keep the original in case you win!
The deadline for submitting photographs is the 7th November 2025, and the competition is open to children and adults alike.
As part of their duty, the Mayor and Mayoresses are available to book for functions and events, attending many opening ceremonies and community events across the year to support local groups, businesses and organisations.
