Hyndburn Borough Council Announces Thrilling Events Programme for 2025
Hyndburn Borough Council is excited to unveil its new events programme for 2025, promising a jam-packed year of exciting activities for all the family spread across high streets and green spaces around the borough.
Following an open invite for event proposals across 9 identified categories, the Council received 32 bids from 15 enthusiastic local organisations eager to deliver something special in Hyndburn. After a rigorous selection process, the Council has awarded funding to successful applicants who will deliver 22 events over the year, ensuring a programme of variety for residents and visitors alike, taking place on high streets and in green spaces.
Councillor Munsif Dad, Leader of Hyndburn Borough Council said:
“We are so happy with the number and quality of responses we received from many organisations. It is clear that the demand to put on events in our towns is growing, as this year saw a record number of bids.
The 2025 programme promises entertainment for all the family. We’re particularly pleased that this year some events will take place in our parks and green spaces as well as our previous high street locations. Hyndburn is blessed with green spaces and I’m pleased that our events programme will highlight many of them.”
The programme of events kicks in April with an Easter Trail in Gatty Park, delivered by Community Solutions North West, and culminates in numerous festive light switch-on events, Christmas markets and other winter events.
Highlights of the 2025 Events Programme:

We introduced a new category for culture and heritage events in 2025 and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to provide funding for ten events under this category.
After Martin Kemp at Accrington Light Switch-On and East 17 at Great Harwood’s Christmas Event in 2024 I’m looking forward to see if those can be topped this year!”
