Hyndburn Council awards Cabinet Action Fund grants to several youth organisations across the borough

 

Several youth organisations across Hyndburn are set to benefit from the latest round of Cabinet Action Fund grants, with funding awarded to projects that will improve facilities, enhance security, expand youth provision and create new opportunities for young people across the borough.

 

Accrington & District Sea Cadets has been awarded £1,000 to improve the security of its unit building through the installation of a new secure entrance door, additional CCTV cameras and a panic alarm system, helping to safeguard the young people and community groups who use the facility.

 

1st Oswaldtwistle St Paul’s Scout Group will receive £1,200 to replace ageing wooden storeroom doors, improving the security and longevity of its headquarters.

 

Brave Church has been awarded £1,000 to expand its popular Brave Youth programme by creating an additional space for young people with more complex needs, allowing the organisation to provide more tailored activities and support during its Friday night youth sessions.

 

1st Oswaldtwistle Girls’ Brigade will receive £1,707.70 towards a mystery adventure trip to Bewilderwood, giving girls aged 4 to 16 the opportunity to enjoy an exciting day out, build confidence and create lasting memories together.

Group of people holding giant chequeAccrington Peel Park Primary School has been awarded £1,000 to purchase a new interactive screen for “The Nest”, enhancing learning and support for children with special educational needs.

 

Val Mannering and Dianne Hoyle, Joint Team Leaders of 1st Oswaldtwistle, members of the Girls Brigade said:

“We are very grateful to Hyndburn Borough Council for the grant we have received. The funding will help our young people enjoy fun and friendship whilst growing in confidence, building skills and sowing the seeds of faith. They are looking forward to their surprise mystery trip which will take place on Saturday 26th September.”

 

Councillor Munsif Dad, Leader of the Council, said:

“Our young people deserve safe, welcoming places where they can learn, develop new skills and enjoy positive experiences. These small grants will support organisations that make a real difference every day, whether that’s through improving security, expanding youth services, enhancing educational provision or creating memorable opportunities for children and young people.”

“We’re proud to support these fantastic community organisations through the Cabinet Action Fund. I’m pleased to see we have approved applications from organisations who work with children and young people across the borough.”

 

The Cabinet Action Fund is a budget dedicated to addressing community needs and supporting local organisations that provide valuable services for Hyndburn residents. The fund forms part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to investing in projects that strengthen communities and improve opportunities across the borough.
