Hyndburn Borough Council Announces More Community Action Fund Small Grants
Hyndburn Borough Council is delighted to announce the awarding of grants to four more local organisations as part of its Cabinet Action Fund, which was introduced in 2025. This initiative aims to support community projects and enhance the quality of life for residents across the borough.
The following organisations have been awarded grants:
Spring into Action CIC: £1440 towards the cost of a monthly disco aimed at residents from Hyndburn with learning disabilities
Stanhill Residents Association: £1000 towards funding the annual village fete
Great Harwood Bowling Club: £1000 to improve their bowling pavilion facilities
Accrington Allstars: £442 towards football training equipment used weekly by hundreds of children from Hyndburn
Mercer Park Bowling Club: £430 to support members to use the facilities
Rachael Fitzpatrick, Treasurer of Accrington Allstars FC said:
“We are delighted to have received this grants from the Council. We are a newly established grassroots football club and as we continue to grow, so do our costs. We support over one hundred young people to play football on a weekly basis and we’ll use this funding to pay for the additional training equipment we need.
Councillor Munsif Dad, Leader of the Council said:
“I’m happy to announce more grants being awarded to five more deserving organisations. There are some fantastic organisations in the list who the Council are pleased to be able to support.
The Cabinet Action Fund is all about supporting local initiatives that make a real difference to our residents. Small grants can go along way for community groups and small organisations. We’ve now provided 15 small grants via this scheme and look forward to assessing more applications.”
The Cabinet Action Fund, announced earlier this year, is a £20,000 budget dedicated to addressing community needs and supporting local service providers. This fund is part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to help local organisations who provide support for Hyndburn residents.
