Information about SPDs in Hyndburn
Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) add details to policies laid out in Development Plan Documents (DPDs), or a saved policy in an existing development plan. SPDs are therefore intended to expand on how the Council’s planning policies can be taken forward.
Local Authorities are required to involve the community in the preparation of SPDs, as detailed in the Council’s Statement of Community Involvement. Within Hyndburn there are a number of ‘saved’ SPDs as detailed below:
- Church and Oswaldtwistle (Adopted December 2006)
- Project Phoenix 1 and 2 (Adopted April 2007)
- Former Peel Fold Mill, Stanhill (Adopted January 2009)
- Platts Lodge (Adopted February 2009)
- Householder Design Guide (Adopted September 2009)
- East Accrington SPD/Masterplan (Adopted April 2010)
- Hill Top SPD (Adopted September 2010)
In addition the following SPDs are currently planned or in production:
- Rishton Canalside SPD – a draft SPD was produced and consulted on in June 2015, the Council plans to adopt this document when resources permit
