PERSONAL SEARCH BOOKING PROCEDURE

Requests for Planning history and chargeable questions.

These are the two sections that Land Charges staff will still deal with for the time being.  The sections are the Planning History and Building Control Requests. These should be booked in the usual way as appointments through the Contact Centre on enquiries@hyndburnbc.gov.uk or on 01254-388111 and allow 48 hours notice. The agents will receive via email the planning history from the Council.  If the component data is requested at the time of booking the appointment, then that information will also come as part of the results along with the details of payment for that information.

This will continue until the planning department can give you access to the planning details through the website.  Once this has been achieved then the only information you need to order from us is Building Control information.

SEARCHES UNDER THE EIR REGULATIONS

Some personal search companies are requesting the raw component data (this is the extra questions that we charge for) under the EIR (European Information Regulations) which makes everything free of charge.

As the Local Land Charges department does not hold the raw data only the individual departments hold this data that is free to view, the agents requesting the information free of charge have to be referred direct to the service areas/departments that will deal with the search and provide the information.

EIR requests should be specific questions; they can not just ask for the entire Con 29 questions answering because Hyndburn Borough Council does not deal with all of the questions.  These questions should be directed to the service area that deals with that question/topic.

The requestor will send an email to searches@hyndburnbc.gov.uk giving the address and the actual questions required, a contact person and telephone number. The individual departments will schedule when they can access the required information and ring back to confirm the visit date and time. The raw data, paper files and maps, will be shown to the requestor and the agent can make notes for their own use, but not take away any documentation or council supplied summary, no council assistance will be given, the agent then can tailor their own report.

Local Land Charges only hold refined/tailored information and as such will have to pass on the fee for compiling this information; this fee is set out on the component data fees list. Land Charges 2026 – Hyndburn Borough Council
