Hyndburn Council Pest Control Team Triumph at National Pest Control Awards 2024
Hyndburn Council are thrilled to share that their Pest Control Team triumphed at the National Pest Awards this year, winning the award for ‘Local Authority Pest Control Team of the Year’ for 2024.
After being shortlisted in the category last month, representatives from the Pest Control Team had the opportunity to network with fellow experts in the industry at the final awards ceremony in London this week.
The National Pest Awards, organised by Pest magazine and supported by BPCA, NPTA, and BASIS, is an annual awards ceremony dedicated to celebrating the very best in professional pest control across the UK.
Cllr Stewart Eaves, Portfolio Holder for Environmental Services, said:
“Every single person who contributes to this service area should be exceptionally proud of themselves and the work they do every day. This award recognises all the efforts that go into running an effective pest control service, like the one in Hyndburn, and is a marker of the team’s continuous commitment to going above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you to the whole team – your commitment to excellence in pest control services has not only made Hyndburn a cleaner and safer place to live but also set a benchmark for others to follow.”
The ‘Local Authority of the Year’ category is an award that acknowledges the work of a Local Authority pest control operation – like the Pest Control team within Hyndburn Borough Council’s Environmental Services – and recognises the commitment of the team to consistently go above and beyond the call of duty, with a real focus on skill development and progression.

“After securing second place last year in the ‘Local Authority of the Year’ category, the whole Pest Control team are exceptionally proud to go on to win the award this year. A huge well-done must be extended to all of the exceptional nominees and I would like to thank the organisers for the opportunity to share more of the work that my team do on a day-to-day basis.
We are constantly reviewing our service to make sure that is is as effective as possible for residents, and we are committed to making the service the very best it can be for the Borough.”
