Further information

The Council will not engage in discussions with a Provider of Supported Housing as to whether or not it will treat any particular accommodation as Supported Exempt Accommodation before; –

  • a property is bought or leased, or
  • Housing Benefit claims are received by the Council.

Despite the term, Supported Exempt Accommodation, the status is not based on a building, it is based on the needs of the individual resident.

Neither will the Council enter into discussions about what constitutes a reasonable rent.
