Volunteering and ways to get involved

Volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to get involved, meet new people and learn new skills whilst keeping active. In the last few months the volunteer gang have done work to improve grassland areas for wildflowers, cleared back vegetation to improve access, made ‘dead hedges’ and done some hazel coppicing. The tasks vary depending on the time of year, but on an 87 acre site there is always something to do!

The volunteers meet weekly on a Thursday from 10am to 1pm and carry out various tasks to improve habitats and access.

All are welcome but under 18s must be supervised by an adult.

Waterproofs, boots, and sturdy clothes are highly recommended.

Access can be uneven and boggy, so these sessions are not suitable for those with limited mobility.
