Volunteering and how to get involved
Volunteering is a great way to get involved, meet new people and learn new skills whilst keeping active. In the last two years the volunteer gang have done work to improve grassland areas for wildflowers, cleared back vegetation to improve access, removed invasive balsam, made ‘dead hedges’ and made a start on managing the hazel in the woodlands! The tasks vary depending on the time of year, but on an 87 acre site there is always something to do!

Raking the grass cuttings from a grassland area to improve conditions for wildflowers.
The volunteers meet weekly on a Thursday, and on the first Sunday of the month, from 10am to 1pm and carry out various tasks to improve habitats and access.
All are welcome but under 18s must be supervised by an adult.
Waterproofs, boots, and sturdy clothes are highly recommended.
Access can be uneven and boggy, so these sessions are not suitable for those with limited mobility.
